Poker Ebook: Sit 'n Go Strategy

Sit ’n go poker tournaments are one table events starting with nine or ten players that usually pay the top three places. They have become very popular on the Internet and are now being spread in brick and mortar cardrooms as well. But they are not standard no-limit poker tournaments since the required strategy to be successful is different, and those who understand the proper approach have found these events to be highly profitable. This text, written by sit ’n go expert Collin Moshman, is the first poker strategy book devoted exclusively to these tournaments. Through extensive hand examples and accompanying theory you will learn to: 1. Master expected value, tournament equity, and fundamental poker concepts, 2. Distinguish between earning chips and earning money, 3. Develop an ultra-aggressive late game strategy to steal all the chips when the blinds are high and your opponents are tightening their play, 4. Play multiple tables, incorporate tracking software, and seize online-only edges, 5. Exploit recreational players in your table selection and game-play strategy, and 6. Maximize your sit ’n go profits by treating each game as a business investment. Whether you want extra income or a full-time sit ’n go career, Sit ‘N Go Strategy provides you with all the tools you need for ultimate success at the tables. Read more...

Phil Gordon's Little Green Book: Lessons and Teachings in No Limit Texas Hold'em

To meet the demand for poker information, many pro players have written how-to books. Some are too basic for the experienced player, others too complex for the beginner. Gordon's book is the 12th poker book I've bought, and I rank it at the top for both style and substance.
The Little Green Book is patterned after Harvey Penick's Little Red Book on golf, and like Penick's book, it covers its subject with clarity and detail, and without pretense. Beginners and experience players alike will benefit from Gordon's book.

I understood the game, the rules, and many plays from just playing poker a lot. The problem with Hold'em is no matter how many books you read, you are destined to loose hundereds or thousands of dollars in the process of your Hold'em education. We have books like this one to give tips on how to cut down on the cost of your education. Honestly, if you're a regular player at the game of Hold'em you got to have this book for your collection. I say collection because all Hold'em players have a book collection :) Read more...

Caro's Book of Poker Tells

I am not saying that this book will win you the world series, but it will give you a huge edge over your competition. The reason is this: Without a knowledge of tells, you really only win the pots that your cards dictate. Yes, you can play better cards than your opponents and avoid trap hands, but with a knowledge of tells, you can win 2 types of hands. 1) you win the hands your cards dictate. 2) you win the hands that your oponents cards don't merit. If you can pick up weakness in your opponents, you can win pots just by betting or raising at the right moment and salvage a pot where you might have folded. Similarly, you can better identify when your huge hand might be second best. Caro breaks tells down into 2 main categories. Tells from actors, and tells from those who are unaware. The most important are those from Actors. It is Caro's contention that all of us act at the poker table and in life, it is instinctive and largely subconscious. If you can pick up on these signals, discern what the player wants you to do, and then do the opposite, then you can truly, truly dominate the competition. This book is a MUST HAVE for the serious poker player. Read more...

Other types of online gambling sites were launched before the first online poker room. Online sports books were introduced in the mid 1990’s which was also the time of online casinos sprouting up around the web.
It wasn’t until 1998 that the first online poker forum was launched. Planet Poker, which has since become a relatively small poker room, enjoyed the status as the sole online poker forum for a short period of time. Other online sites entered the fray soon after.
Paradise Poker was launched in 1999 and would soon become the industry leader. Today, there are many, many sites to choose from. A search for the most popular sites for online poker show over 1,000 matches, and a Google search gives over 50 million matches for references to online poker sites. Read more...

No Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice

No limit hold em is exploding in popularity. Before 2000, it could be difficult to find a game. In 2006, it is played everywhere in casino cardrooms, in bar backrooms and homes, and on the Internet.
Now anyone can find a game, but few know how to play well. Most players learn by watching television or by listening to dubious advice from their friends. While they may have picked up a valuable tidbit here or there, most players come to the table without a winning plan. These players have two options: wise up or go broke.
The world s foremost poker theorist, David Sklansky, and noted poker authority, Ed Miller, will wise you up quickly. No Limit Hold em: Theory and Practice is the definitive work on this complex game. It provides you a window into the heads of experts, teaching you in straightforward and enjoyable terms the how s and why s of winning play.
It covers critical concepts like manipulating the pot size, adjusting correctly to stack sizes, winning the battle of mistakes, reading hands, and manipulating opponents into playing badly. It teaches you about implied odds and how to size your bets and raises effectively. It even covers many principles of short stacked play that will give you a big edge in no limit hold em tournaments.
Never before have so many people played no limit hold em, and never before has there been so much opportunity to win big. If you want your share of the spoils, read this book! Read more...

No Limit Holdem Secrets

Hi, my name is Roy Rounder.
Of course, that’s not my REAL name. “Rounder” is actually a nickname that all my friends used to call me… gradually, it became a part of my “poker persona” and pen name.
I’ve been playing Texas Holdem for as long as I can remember… BEFORE the game exploded with popularity. No limit Texas Holdem is my game of choice-- as it’s been from day one-- and that’s what this book is about.
Let’s get a few things out of the way before you tackle this book…
First, be a responsible gambler. Don’t get “addicted” to poker and don’t play in stakes that are too high for you. While it’s true you can make a full-time income playing Texas
Holdem, don’t go betting your house payments at the tables.
Gamblers Anonymous has given me permission to reproduce a simple questionnaire that will help you determine if you might have a gambling addiction. It can be found in the chapter titled, “Are You A Responsible Gambler?”. Read more...

Gook book to read on BJ. I hope everyone knows that you cannot make a professional living playing BJ in this country by counting cards. Go checkout blackjack forums first. Again, you cannot make money consistently by counting cards. It's a myth spread by the casinos, not the players. However, you will have an edge, ever slight. BJ should be played recreationally to get as much comps as possible without losing money. At least that's my goal.

Lance Humble and Clark Cooper, The World's Greatest Blackjack Book (revised edition) (Broadway Books, 1980)

The problem with the classic in the genre, Edward Thorp's Beat the Dealer, is that it's simply too complex for English majors like me to figure out. If you don't have a head for numbers, trying to put Thorp's work into practice is liable to send you to the nuthatch for long stretches of time. Humble and Cooper, after a good deal of expository prose (most of which is long, long out of date-- much of it, they surmise at various times, was probab Read more...

S ince the frrst edition of this book my goal has been to create the ultimate resource for serious
blackjack players. This resource would directly answer any question that a player might have or
it would guide you to the answer. This resource would also describe and rate every blackjack
product known to exist and provide advice to new players who want to learn a valid system. This
resource would also have the ultimate dictionary and describe every term, rule, game, side bet, acronym
and system ever created.
In the third edition of Blackjack: A Professional Reference I believe I have achieved my goal. I have
to admit, however, that you will undoubtedly find something that you are interested in that is not
included. Indeed, this book will never be complete for there will always be someone who attempts to
sell some silly system or offer the player the moon in exchange for their credit card number. As you
read and use this book please take a moment and jot down things you like and don't like about it and
keep your eyes open for possible errors or misrepresentations. I pride myself in attempting to be honest
and accurate about this game but I am only human. With your help this book will continue to be the
leading resource guide for serious players.
This edition is subtitled The Encyclopedia of Casino Twenty-One which I believe is a better

Nationwide, you can find a game in progress everywhere. If you want to play, you can find poker games on replicas of 19th century riverboats or on Native American tribal lands. You can play poker at home with the family or online with opponents from around the world. Like bowling and billiards before it, poker has moved out from under the seedier side of its roots and is flowering in the sunshine. Maybe you've never played poker before and you don't even know what a full house is. Poker For Dummies covers the basics. Or perhaps you've played for years, but you just don't know how to win. This handy guide will help you walk away from the poker table with winnings, not lint, in your pockets. If you're a poker expert, you still can benefit — some of the suggestions may surprise you, and you can certainly learn from the anecdotes from professional players like T.J. Cloutier and Stu Unger. Know what it takes to st
